    SOFTLINE PASTEL TRAINING, PASTEL PARTNER V10
    4 DAY COURSE
    Pastel Partner Training course has been aligned with the following ABET unit standards:
  • Unit standard 114736: Record Business financial transactions
  • Unit standard 12991: Work with information technology in an accounting environment.
  • Unit standard 13999: Demonstrate an understanding of basic accounting practice

  • COST: R3 500 ( excluding exam fee )
  • EXAM FEE: R230 (External exam marked by Pastel is an optional choice.)

  • COURSE PRE-REQUISITES: Prior to attending this course learners must have knowledge of basic bookkeeping terms and concepts and must be computer literate.

      COURSE DETAILS:
    1. Getting to know Softline Pastel
    2. Computer fundamentals
    3. Accounting principles
    4. Registration of Pastel software & how to open and navigate around your Pastel company
    5. Creating a new company
    6. Using the Setup menu
    7. The Edit menu - general ledger , customers & suppliers
    8. The Process menu - Day 2 and 3
      - Supplier and Customer documents: Orders, GRN's, Invoices, Credit notes
      Recurring invoices (monthly rent) Make one for all ( e.g Rent or Levy invoices)
      - Journals and Cashbook entries including reconciliation and VAT
      - Journal to enter Revenue from a POS (Point of Sale) where debtors and stock is entered in the
      other program and totals only are entered in Pastel to create Trial balance and calculate VAT (POS software like Optimax, Medimass, Lodgemaster, Vetmaster )
    9. The View menu - Day 4
      Detailed ledger accounts , Trial balance, Income Statement etc
      Report writer reports: 6 month comparative Inc Statements
      Exporting reports to Excel
      e-mail reports, invoices and statements
    10. Practice tasks and correction of errors (and Vat implications!)

      Please note: Pastel will only issue a Certificate of Competency to delegates who successfully achieve a minimum 75% pass mark for the Unit Standard Assessment associated with this course.
